反課綱微調北高發言人林姓學生燒炭輕生，此事件震撼全台。民進黨團昨表示，要求立院立即召開臨時會，請求立法院長王金平立即召開朝野協商，就學生所提出的吳思華下台、與立即停止違法課綱兩項訴求，於臨時會中作成決議，以實際行動回應林冠華及廣大同學的心聲。
對此，民進黨主席暨總統參選人蔡英文原定今（31）日前往高雄、台南參訪，民進黨臨時發通知表示，蔡英文上午將針對黑箱課綱一事，返回台北召開黨及黨團幹部會議，原定行程全數取消。
至於台北市長柯文哲則傳出，稍晚將現身教育部，送礦泉水給學生，表達對學生的支持和打氣。
